Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-related Research

Purpose

The purpose of this research supplement is to promote diversity in the biomedical, behavioral, clinical and social sciences research workforce by providing principle investigators holding specific types of National Institutes of Health research grants with funds to recruit students, postdoctorates and eligible investigators from groups that have been shown to be underrepresented.

Eligibility

Candidates eligible for support under this supplement program include individuals at various career levels who come from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in science. Such candidates include individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Who Can Submit an application?

Only principal investigators who hold an active R01, R10,R18, R22, R24, R35, R37, R43, R44, R41, R42, P01, P20, P30, P40, P41, P50, P51, P60, U01, U10, U19, U41, U42, U54, grant are eligible to submit an application.
